Privacy Policy

Last updated: 21 September 2026

Sayvo is a voice and text translation app. This policy says what happens to what you put into it, in plain terms.

In short. Your audio and text pass through our server to a translation provider and are not kept afterwards by us. We never ask for your name, email or phone number. We do keep a small amount of information about each installation, so that usage limits and subscriptions work — the table below lists all of it.

1. What happens to a translation

When you translate a voice message, an audio file or a piece of text, it is sent to our server and forwarded to OpenAI, which performs the transcription and the translation. The audio and the text pass through our server in memory only: neither the recording, nor the transcription, nor the translation is written to our database or to disk.

OpenAI handles the content under its own policy, linked above.

2. What our server keeps

This is the complete list.

WhatWhyHow long
An installation identifier, stored as a one-way hash To apply daily limits and recognise a subscription without an account Until the installation is removed from our records
Platform and app version To keep older versions working and know when they can be retired As above
A subscription identifier from RevenueCat, and the date your subscription runs to To confirm a subscription is genuine As above
Counts of translations per day and the estimated cost To apply free-tier limits and detect abuse Daily counts reset each day
A log line per request: which operation, which model, how many tokens, how many seconds of audio, whether it succeeded To find faults and keep spending under control Retained while the service operates

The installation identifier is generated by the app. It is not your Apple ID, not an advertising identifier, and not tied to your device by anything we can reverse. Reinstalling the app creates a new one.

Our server sees the network address a request comes from and uses it to limit how often the service can be called from one place. It is not stored in our database; it may appear briefly in operational logs.

3. What stays on your device

Deleting the app removes the history and the preferences.

4. What we never collect

5. Services we rely on

6. Permissions the app asks for

Sayvo does not use the camera or your location. If iOS mentions either, it is because a component the app is built with refers to those capabilities; Sayvo does not call them.

7. Children

Sayvo is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.

8. Your choices

Because there is no account, there is nothing of yours for us to look up by name. If you want the records tied to your installation deleted, write to us from the device in question and we will remove them.

9. Changes

If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it.
